The FDA in the US tries to discredit vitamin D

Mike AdamsThe US government has gone on the attack against vitamin D, claiming it’s no help for the health of postmenopausal women. It’s a ridiculous assertion, of course, and it begs the question why?

The answer is that the government, along with the media, Big Pharma and the FDA, may be setting the stage for outlawing over-the-counter vitamin D and turning it into a prescription-only “medicine,” thereby making it cost 100 times as much and thrusting the U.S. population into even worse vitamin D deficiency.

The United States government has just crossed the threshold of nutritional insanity with an announcement that postmenopausal women should avoid taking vitamin D. This announcement, made by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, is tantamount to declaring war on nutrition. In a nation where 90+ percent of the population is chronically deficient in vitamin D, any government edict that encourages people to avoid this lifesaving vitamin will only result in more cancer, more Alzheimer’s disease, more bone fractures, more diabetes and more kidney disease.

… which is, of course, exactly what the medical establishment wants. After all, how are the drug companies supposed to make money treating patients with cancer if they prevent cancer themselves by using dirt-cheap vitamin D?

The mainstream media, predictably, has dutifully followed the government’s anti-nutrition advice by distorting the conclusions of the study…

  • Trist realitet. nyligen såg vi hur ett läkemedels bolag gjorde en usel studie om omega3, och samtidigt lanserade sin diabetes medicin!
    Hälssam mat är värdelöst. Det är bättre att äta medicin i stället.
    Staten bör skärpa kontrollen över läkemedelsbolagen, och hindra statsanstälda forskare från att skriva på “compliance klausuler” med företag.

  • Jaha, det förvånar mig inte!

    Här i Sverige kör vi på en annan linje: I dagarna köpte jag mig en ny burk D-vitamin, den gamla var slut. Man hade ändrat på burkens design, så jag tänkte att jag skulle kolla om innehållet var detsamma, det var det, och 2000 IE per tablett.

    MEN, på den gamla burken motsvarade det 500 % av rekommenderad dagsdos, medan det på den nya burken motsvarar 1000 %! Det gäller att vara vaken…
