Russia will build eight nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Iran, four of which will be located in Bushehr in the south of the country.

This was stated by Ebrahim Rezaei, Spokesperson for Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, referring to the statement of Mohammad Eslami, Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission to the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI).

It is specified that the construction of the nuclear power plant will take place based on the agreement concluded with Russia. At the same time, the construction of the second and third power units of the Bushehr NPP is entirely carried out by Iranian companies, as reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Rezaei also told reporters about the visit of members of the parliamentary committee to the Tehran Research Reactor and the radiopharmaceutical production complex at the AEOI.
