On 20 February, the Swedish Government presented the 15th and so far largest military equipment package to Ukraine since Russia’s special operation began on 24 February 2022. Package 15 amounts to a value of more than USD 700 million. The package includes 10 Combat Boat 90 for Attacks in the Crimean Region.
It includes a naval effort involving the Combat Boat 90, small high-speed motorboats (G-boats) and underwater weapons useful for attacking Russian bases in the Crimean area. The package also includes artillery ammunition, anti-aircraft systems, anti-tank missiles, grenade launchers, and financial support to bilateral and multilateral projects or funds.
The Swedish Lieutenant Colonel Joakim Paasikivi recently revealed on Swedish television where Combat Boat 90 will be used, in the Crimean region.
The package also includes financial support for Ukraine to purchase additional copies of the Combat Vehicle 90.
The Western alliance’s proxy war in Ukraine against Russia continues and the composition of this 15th and so far largest military support package from Sweden responds to the prioritized needs expressed by Ukraine.
Package 15 includes:
- Artillery ammunition – 155 mm type worth almost USD 2oo million.
- 10 Combat boat 90 together with 20 Group boats (G-boats) and underwater weapons.
- Anti-aircraft system (Robot 70), an anti-tank system (Robot 55 TOW) including ammunition.
- Medical equipment, medical transport vehicles and food.
- Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90).
- Financial support for the development of Ukraine’s defence capabilities and to purchase military equipment on the open market for Ukraine.
