Israel attacked the Global Sumud Flotilla several times during the night on international waters. Boats were hit with sound bombs and explosive flares from many drones. They were sprayed with chemicals, radios jammed, calls for help were blocked, according to Thiago Ávila and other activists on the boats.
Israel calls the activists terrorists and has renamed the flotilla ”Hamas Sumud Flotilla”. The agency goes on claiming that the jihadist and Hamas operative Saif Abu Kishk runs Cyber Neptune, a shell company in Spain, which ”owns the flotilla ships sailing to Gaza”.
The Hamas individuals Marouan Ben Guettaia and Wael Nawar (image above), spokespersons of the Hamas flotilla, are also involved, writes IsraelMFA.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry writes on Sep 23:
”We were sorry to hear the response from the Hamas flotilla representative that the flotilla insists on pursuing a violent course of action and refuses our proposal to transfer, in a coordinated and peaceful manner, any aid that might be aboard the flotilla to the Gaza Strip via the nearby Ashkelon Marina.
This response once again highlights the insincerity of the flotilla members and their mission to serve Hamas, rather than the people in Gaza.
If the flotilla continues to reject Israel’s peaceful proposal, Israel will take the necessary measures to prevent its entry into the combat zone and to stop any violation of a lawful naval blockade, while making every possible effort to ensure the safety of its passengers.
We reiterate: if your intentions are sincere, transfer any such aid to the Ashkelon Marina so it can be forwarded promptly to the Gaza Strip in a peaceful and non-violent manner.”
Thiago Ávila, a Brazilian activist heading to Gaza to break the siege and create a people’s humanitarian corridor, writes on X:
”Why would anyone that has been seeing them starving children to death believe that they would deliver any aid? Why didnt they deliver the aid that they stole from all our previous missions, or simply opened Rafah Crossing for the thousands of trucks rotting in the desert?”
Activists publish videos as they communicate with the world, but sudden bursts of sounds and music disrupt their attempts. On one occasion, the Swedish group ABBA played.

”After two days of threats from the Israeli foreign ministry, we suffered 11 attacks against our non-violent, solidarity humanitarian mission protected by international law to create a humanitarian corridor for the Palestinian people in Gaza.”
Drone attacks destroyed the mast of the Zafiro boat during the night, according to a member of the Global Sumud Flotilla fleet.
