In the BBC article called ‘Antarctic sea-ice at mind-blowing low alarms experts’, Georgina Rannard, Becky Dale and Erwan Rivault, who are members of the ‘BBC News Climate & Science and Data Journalism Team’, spread misleading climate reporting. They skewed and distorted scientific data and used their own mix of sentences to create panic mode climate change propaganda.

The misleading climate reporting contained in the BBC’s misleading article has been republished in thousands of newspapers around the world since its publication less than a month ago. It is clear that journalists are joining the crowd instead of finding out the facts.
In 1966 the Scientist Walter Meier wrote the article ‘Anomalous Variability in Antarctic Sea Ice Extents During the 1960s With the Use of Nimbus Data’, wherein Walter Meier, with his two fellow researchers, in year 2014 stated that in 1966 the Antarctic sea-ice extent covered 15.9 million km², which is far less than the 17,6 million km² sea-ice extent reported on the 12 September this year.
So, today’s Antarctic sea-ice extent is not especially mind-blowing. The Antarctic sea-ice trend line for the time period from 1979 to the present actually shows a slight increase, even though it is a minuscule increase.
In the same BBC article Professor Siegert states ‘When I started studying the Antarctic 30 years ago, we never thought extreme weather events could happen there’. Well… It is quite obvious that Siegert never read Walter Meier’s article published in 2014.
Whoever ‘we’ are referred to in Siegert’s statement was never explained by him. I can imagine he meant himself, but thought it would sound more potent if he would use a pronoun in plural form instead of the pronoun ‘I’.
In the BBC article, it is also stated ‘Sea-ice has broken record minimums in summer for three of the past seven years, including February 2023’. That statement is beyond doubt deceptive. Seven years is an extremely narrow time frame in climatology – more like a blink of an eye.
It is about time that those researchers buy themselves a time machine so that they can travel back in time and find the data that they once collected when they themselves were younger and remember what they did.
The BBC article ends with ‘It’s potentially a really alarming sign of Antarctic climate change that hasn’t been there for the last 40 years. And this misleading climate reporting is only just emerging now.
Well, compared to the sea-ice extent in 1966 (57 years ago) the contemporary sea-ice extent is not alarming at all, but some researchers obviously do whatever it takes to get their names and memorable statements published – anything for fame! Who wouldn’t want to be a reputable forecaster?
The BBC article is severely flawed and presents misinformation based on disinformation. Walter Meier should, without the use of a time machine, know and remember what he himself year 2014 stated about the Antarctic sea-ice extent year 1966, but obviously, he nowadays has another agenda than truly standing by science.
Walter Meier is now trying to make people believe that there actually is such a thing as ‘man-made climate change’, for which there is no scientific support at all.
Misleading climate reporting even on the Arctic Ocean
The Arctic sea ice has also been targeted by climate activists such as Al Gore. After having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, he stated that there was a 75% chance the Arctic would be ice-free by 2016.
However, the Arctic still has its ice, and the ice is still at the same level as when Al Gore made his phenomenal expert prophecy, which awarded him a great sum of money to be added to his already extreme personal wealth gained through climate scamming based on the device ‘anything is as good as a guess’.
Al Gore himself owns expensive real estate near the ocean, so he apparently does not expect the sea level to rise in his lifetime. Another climate alarmist is Barack Obama, whose oceanfront house on Martha’s Vineyard is particularly close to sea level.
Barack Obama is perhaps the American president who has pushed the climate agenda the most and warned about sea level rise. There are many climate hoaxers, and they make a lot of money from their scare tactics.
Not more hurricanes, forest fires or higher temperatures than before
Today, hurricanes are neither more frequent nor more powerful than before. Nevertheless, journalists are quick to claim that we are now experiencing more storms and hurricanes, but this is not at all true. There is also no scientific basis for claiming that warm weather causes more and stronger storms.
In the U.S. it was much hotter a hundred years ago, but NASA has for decades been twisting and skewing historic temperature data sets. NASA’s historic temperature data sets are far from identical to the 25 years ago measured temperatures. The effect is misleading climate reporting.
NASA makes the past colder and the present warmer. NASA has altered (NASA actually calls it ‘adjusted’) the temperatures to fit the ‘Michael Mann Hockey Stick Theory’, and the IPCC and national agencies worldwide believe in theories instead of real raw data. When the data doesn’t fit the theory, they just alter the data.
The IPCC is solely funding climate researchers who adapt to the IPCC’s fraudulent pseudo-science and climate agenda – that the world would be heating up due to human activity. However, nothing could be further from the truth.
Another frequently skewed reporting is about wildfires. The United States government is truncating all historic wildfire data before 1983, but during the 1930’s the wildfires burned down more than five times the area burnt down by contemporary wildfires, but cutting out all data points before 1983 makes it look like wildfires nowadays have reached beyond imagination, which they are very very far from doing.
Climate journalists are not scientists
A couple of days after the BBC article had been published, the Swedish Radio Broadcast Corporation (SR) published an article about the same Antarctic sea-ice extent phenomenon. The Swedish Radio Broadcast Corporation’s journalist Georgiana Harris wrote that the researcher Robbie Mallet had stated ‘We have during the past 42 years never seen an ice-sheet this small’.
However, data set figures older than 42 years have been truncated to pave the way for this mind-blowing reporting. Climate journalists aren’t scientific researchers and have scarce or no knowledge about the theory of science and research methodology. The effect is again, misleading climate reporting.
They pretend they have a deep understanding of science, but they mostly rely on unreliable researchers, who in their turn have one single goal – to get more money, fame and recognition within the scientific establishment. Science has become a dangerous mix of business and politics.
Being a scientist not stand by science is completely unforgivable. Being a scientist requires scientific integrity, but nowadays many scientists and researchers are more focused on collecting grants and making a lot of money than contributing to the increase and development of the scientific body of knowledge.
The globalist agenda, such as the Agenda 2030 and the Immunization Agenda 2030, is run by the global elite through global organizations in cooperation with profitable multinational companies, financially strong lobbying groups plus bribed and bought politicians and unelected representatives.
Between the industrial complex and politics, there are revolving doors and an immense exchange of people in the midst of their careers striving for higher wages and more prominent positions. Misleading climate reporting is sadly a part of the climate agenda. They are coordinating their actions, no matter what the cost will be for the citizens of the world.
