Not a day seems to pass, without mainstream Western media highlighting the alleged global threat posed by China. The unspecified nature of this ”threat” raises questions: What is it about, and who is the target? Does it genuinely exist?
The predicament, as perceived by the US-led West, lies in China’s significant role in the World, contributing almost a third of humanity’s entire industrial production capacity.
Interestingly, the media seldom juxtaposes this with the USA’s standalone position, accounting for about 40% of the world’s total military spending, which it has used to start wars on almost every continent since World War II.
BRI – Paving the Way for Global Connectivity
China, positioned as the world’s industrial hub, necessitates a robust transportation infrastructure to deliver products globally and import crucial raw materials. The Belt & Road Initiative (BRI), conceived in 2013, addresses this challenge.
The BRI project involves constructing roads across the Eurasian landmass (the ”Belt” part in BRI) and establishing ports as global maritime hubs (the ”Road” part).
Reportedly, by 2023, 155 countries, encompassing 75% of the world’s population and over half of global GDP, have joined the BRI.
The initiative aims to create the necessary global infrastructure for humanity’s ongoing industrialization and technological advancement.
This development is unacceptable to the United States, in its role of an American Empire, which makes it periodically engage in sabre-rattling against China, under the pretext of protecting places like Taiwan.
The clip below from Al-Jazeera summarizes the BRI project.
Western precedents
China’s BRI project can be viewed as the civilized man’s alternative to the US practice of economic and political low-intensity warfare which the US has engaged in for well over a century, as testified by whistleblowers such as John Perkins in the clip below.
