Dr Steven Greer provided some insights into the exposure of UAP data but stayed reserved about any direct collaborations with President Donald Trump.
Dr Steven Greer, a prominent UAP researcher and founder of the Disclosure Project, is actively collaborating with key figures close to the current presidential administration to advance the disclosure of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) data.
As the push for transparency gains momentum, Greer has highlighted promising developments and significant tribulations that threaten to derail the effort, including disinformation campaigns, a lack of legal protections for whistleblowers, and the complexity of the issue itself.
Greer, who has spent over thirty years advocating for the release of classified UAP information, recently spoke about his ongoing efforts. When asked if he had personally discussed the matter with President Donald Trump, whose administration has returned to power, Greer remained cryptic.
“I can’t comment on the people I’m meeting with intimately right now.” … ”I’ll just say that there are really good people around him that are trying to find out about this seriously and sincerely,” he said.
Dr Steven Greer emphasized that while there are encouraging signs, the road ahead is fraught with obstacles.
“There are very promising developments. If they can stay on track with getting the information and not be gaslit by the disinformation. Because for every person that will go in and give them the truth of what’s going on… there’ll be 10 that are actually counterintelligence and disinformation people gaslighting them.”
According to Greer, the challenge lies in the UAP issue’s sheer complexity and the limited time policymakers can dedicate to it.
“If you’re the president or the chairman of Senate Intelligence… you’ve got 100 things a day you’ve got to deal with. You have to have some people who are experts, who are trusted, who can drill down on this and unpack it. Because it’s way more complicated than anyone realizes”.
Dr Steven Greer stressed the need for firsthand sources, citing whistleblowers like Jake Barber and Daniel Herrera, whose testimonies he has documented. However, he warned that without adequate tools and focus, even well-intentioned leaders risk misinterpreting the data.
“It’s a big story, biggest story in human history, frankly, and a huge national security issue,” he asserted.
One of Greer’s primary concerns is the lack of legal and physical protections for whistleblowers, who possess critical knowledge about covert UAP programs. He pointed to a missed opportunity in late 2023, when the Senate unanimously passed provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would have offered amnesty and safe harbor for whistleblowers.
Greer revealed his behind-the-scenes role in crafting the legislation, but lamented its fate:
“It went over to the House, and some people killed it… Congressman Turner of the House Intelligence Committee and Mike Rogers of the Armed Services Committee… ripped those provisions out and stripped it of anything meaningful.”
The absence of these protections has left whistleblowers vulnerable, a reality Greer knows all too well.
“They need legal protections, because many of them have been in operations that are illegal, they need physical protection because there are wetworks or assassination, targeted killings that have been authorized against people,” he said.
“I’ve had people on my team killed over the years. So until that happens, you’re out here naked, we’re uncovered, very dangerous.”
Dr Steven Greer argues that the president could resolve this with an executive order, granting the Department of Justice authority to provide immunity and launch a full investigation.
“The president has the power to authorize [this] with a stroke of the pen, no question, absolutely,” he urged.
Despite the challenges, Greer remains optimistic about the administration’s potential to act. He has recommended that high-value whistleblowers—like those he’s worked with, including Jake Barber—be given a platform to come forward safely.
“These people are patriotic… But right now there’s no, we’re not protecting them,” he said.
As Greer continues his work, he calls on the public to pressure Congress and the administration to prioritize UAP disclosure, warning that without action, the truth may remain buried under layers of secrecy and misinformation.
