A team of astronomers from UMass Amherst have observed the super massive black hole (SMBH) at the center of our galaxy with great precision, and their results indicate that only a small amount of the very hot gas in the vicinity is entering the SMBH. Most models created by astronomers of SMBHs predicted a large amount of material being consumed by the black hole, which is now observed to be incorrect.
