”Hydraulic fracking in California uses a host of highly toxic chemicals that have unknown effects on drinking water supplies, wildlife and crops because state regulatory agencies don’t fully understand what oil companies are doing, a state science panel warned Thursday”, LA Times writes.

Risks and hazards associated with about two-thirds of the chemicals are not clear and the toxicity of more than half remains ”uninvestigated, unmeasured and unknown. Basic information about how these chemicals would move through the environment does not exist.”
