In 1982, NATO promised that if East Germany became part of Germany, it would not expand its territory towards “Russia” (Soviet Union). At that time, NATO had no borders with Russia other than the Norwegian-Russian border in the north and the Bering Strait.

Since 1999, however, NATO has been joined en masse by the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Finland and Sweden.

In several stages, NATO has broken its promise not to expand its territory and land border with Russia, which is now longer than 200 miles. As reflected in many EU decisions, the European NATO map is almost identical to the EU map.

Swedish politicians, the Swedish Armed Forces, Swedish intelligence services and the entire military-industrial establishment pushed for the decision on Swedish NATO membership and the DCA agreement without considering the security risks of joining. The DCA meant that Sweden gave up independence and territory (military bases) to foreign powers. The DCA constitutes an occupation of Swedish territory, which was only possible due to high treason by the current government.

Twenty years ago, Vladimir Putin pointed out the risks of expanding NATO and that NATO’s expansion was forcing Russia to develop new superior types of weapons. Three years later, he announced that such weapons development was underway, and eight years ago, he made it clear that Russia had such weapons.

In November 2024, Russia deployed its first such weapon, the Oreshnik missile, which has caused panic in Ukraine and NATO countries. This new weapon has brought along the fact that Russia has shifted its global dominance and balance in its favor.

Oreshnik missiles travel at 12 times the speed of sound and strike with surgical precision. They can reach the entire North American continent and all of Europe, and it is impossible to defend a country and its people against them because they are twice as fast as the second-fastest missile.

Therefore, Sweden and the other NATO countries must stop all arms deliveries to Ukraine and ensure that all military personnel and all civilian employees working in the war industry are immediately withdrawn from Ukrainian territory.

Otherwise, these NATO countries, including Sweden, may be attacked with Oreshnik missiles, which would be unnecessary, as such a scenario can be avoided. If Ukraine does not receive military assistance, it will be forced to enter into peace negotiations with Russia, and peace negotiations are always a better solution than war.

Ukraine and Russia were close to such a peace deal when the UK Prime Minister overturned it.

War is productively destructive for everyone except for the military-industrial establishment. War always means death, suffering, disease, misery and immense devastation. For the sake of national security, regional security in northern Europe, and from a geopolitical perspective, Sweden should dust off the highly successful Cold War security policy known as the “Nordic balance”.

This means that Sweden must leave NATO and that the politicians who decided to join must be held accountable for crimes against national security. We need politicians who respect the foundational law/constitution and democracy – as expressed in the constitution – and with integrity so that they remain firmly anchored, even if the military-industrial establishment, the EU or the UN push them.

Swedish citizens deserve to live in safety and security. Building society, future opportunities and development opportunities, and good health must be prioritized. People deserve future and development opportunities that develop and preserve society instead of destroying it, which military conflicts always do.

A Swedish policy must focus on citizens living in peace, having individual freedom, access to good healthcare and education, low energy costs and a tax burden that is not too high. Such a society leads to high productivity and, thus, to prosperity. Still, it requires neutrality and good relations with other countries, especially the BRICS countries, which are now the world’s geopolitical engine and economic power.

We need innovative politicians who take a holistic approach and do not create unnecessary threats to Russia or other countries. Today’s generation of politicians has shown what they are capable of, which applies to all parliamentary parties.

We need an injection of new parties and politicians who are responsible and who do not involve Sweden in any destructive pacts. Neutrality is, by the way, the best prerequisite for peace, which Sweden has over 200 years of experience.
