Beijing’s foreign ministry has released a detailed critique of the National Endowment for Democracy’s activities, characterizing the US-funded organization as a tool for foreign interference.

The 11,000-word report describes the NED as Washington’s ’white gloves’ in global affairs, documenting systematic efforts to meddle in other countries’ internal affairs.

The report traces NED’s evolution since its founding in 1983 under US President Ronald Reagan to its current operations and states that the NED, which receives $315 million annually from the US Congress, effectively serves as an instrument for ”subverting state power” abroad and concludes that:

”No country is in a position to lecture others on democracy and human rights,” reflecting China’s growing challenge to US-led international initiatives.
