Below is a comment to the article:  US Senate wants the entire USA to be a ”battleground”

The US Senate on Thursday December 1 voted 93-7 to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (S.1867) , including a very controversial provision authorizing the president to use ”all necessary and appropriate force” to detain individuals suspected of terrorism.

Hillary Stemple from Jurist.org established in her article the Senate on Tuesday November 29 rejected an amendment (suggested change) 1064 to the 1867 bill that would have created additional time to allow a congressional study on the issue of counterterrorism. The provision grants the military complete custody and control over terror suspects and grants authority to Attorney General Eric Holder over whether suspects should be tried in military or civilian courts, she writes.

However people on the net seem to have misstaken this amendment (Nov 29) from another amendment (1125) issued on December 1, the same day the S.1867-bill was passed in the Senate. This amendment (1125) was also rejected by Senate with the score: 45 Yea vs 55 Nay.

So we have to wait and see how the US Congress will handle this hot potato. While you wait enjoy Keith Olbermann above discussing the bill.

People have started to collect names to stop the making of the law.

  • Warning to you political morons on Capital Hill, the President and Judiciary. American soldiers will never turn on American Citizens. Think twice before you cock that pistol.

  • I wish I could say that I was shocked and appalled at reading this, but unfortunately I live by the notion ”Love your country, Fear your Government”. I was 15 years old when the government conspiracy we call 9/11 occurred, but then it was still called ’terrorist’ act.. as in foreign terrorists not state; and nothing seemed right about it at all, and the American populous as a whole are a bunch of ignorant, consuming idiots. We forget the slogan that ”Freedom isn’t Free” and that just because it is written on a piece of paper and not practiced everyday the way it was intended, they fade everyday.

  • greetings from latrobe, PA. 9/11 opened the floodgates for the US govt to slowly strip it’s citizens rights away from them. 9/11 was necessary to start another war and to slowly infect the minds of the US population to fear the boogy man named al qeada. you see, in the US, most people are asleep. They don’t care about what our elected officials are doing, as-long-as it doesn’t affect their lives ”right now”. We are a very stupid society, and very trusting. We are slow to believe that something like H.R. 1540 could happen here in the land of the free and the home of the brave, but we , at least 80% believe in a invisible man who hides in the clouds, is broke, and keeps track of all the good and bad we do in our lives ! People here are more concerned with their face book page, which by the way is closely monitored by the US Govt., or their i-pods. Starting with the patriot act, courtesy of monkey boy bush, who by the way probably couldn’t even spell ”patriot act”, based on homeland security, the US govt slowly slithered it’s way into everyone’s personal and private life. I don’t know what it’s going to take for the people of the US to wake up, but based on what’s been going on, they better do it real soon, or we’ll all be ”goose stepping” down main street USA !!! I know this for sure; if I were to hit the lottery, I would move out of here asap! Oh and did I mention we are the most heavily armed citizenry in the history of the world? just wait till the shtf here. It will be legendary!

While The Public Sleeps, An Unprecedented Act of TREASON Occured in the U.S. Senate on Nov. 29, 2011 (Dec. 1, 2011)

On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, an amendment (titled SA-1107), sponsored by Senator Udall, toThe National Defense Authorization Act ( S-1867), was voted down by 60 senators in the US Senate. The purpose of Udall’s amendment was to change the wording in a section of S-1867 sponsored by John McCain and Carl Levin called Subtitle D of Title X, also called Detainee matters.

The 60 treasonous senators who voted ”nay” on the Udall amendment on November 29, effectively killed the Constitution-protective amendment wording that Udall and his co-sponsors had crafted.

The current version of the bill will allow any suspicious person chosen by a secret panel authorized by the President, to be abducted by military personnel and taken to Guantanamo (or other offshore military installation) and ”interrogated” and detained forever, if they so choose.
